Overview: Bowes Creek Country Club is a public course in Elgin, Illinois, set within the rolling landscape of the Bowes Creek development. Rick Jacobson’s design uses broad fairways, natural water features and mature-looking corridors to create a destination-style course in the western suburbs.
History: Bowes Creek was developed as the golf centerpiece of a large Elgin community and opened in the late 2000s. The course and clubhouse were planned together, giving the layout a residential setting with a strong public-golf identity.
Did You Know? Bowes Creek was created on the far west side of Elgin, where the course forms part of a broader open-space network. Its setting is as much about landscape scale as about individual hazards.
