Overview: The North Course at The Boulders is a desert layout in Carefree, Arizona, where Jay Morrish's routing works around granite formations, native vegetation and the foothills of the Sonoran Desert. The course's visual drama comes from the land itself rather than from decorative features.

History: The Boulders golf facility developed its two courses in the early 1980s, with Jay Morrish responsible for the North Course. Later work and rerouting were carried out with attention to the original desert setting and the large rock formations.

Did You Know? The official North Course scorecard lists Jay Morrish as architect. The Boulders' name comes from the granite formations that appear throughout the Carefree property and frame several holes.
