Boulcott's Farm Heritage Golf Club

Overview: Boulcott’s Farm Heritage Golf Club is a Wellington-region course in Lower Hutt, set across open farm and floodplain land north of the city. Its current 18-hole identity combines the club history of Hutt Golf Club with the later Boulcott’s Farm site. The setting is more spacious than an urban course, with broad fairways, shelter belts and the practical influence of river protection works shaping how the holes play.

History: Hutt Golf Club dates from 1909, while Boulcott Golf Club began as a nine-hole club in 1938. The two organisations merged in 2010 after land sales and flood-protection work changed the area. That history explains the course’s heritage name and its present form. In 2024, Kristine Kerr of Kura Golf Course Design prepared a plan to remodel six holes, including a shorter par four at the 10th, continuing the process of adapting the course to its landscape.

Did You Know? Flood protection is part of the course story rather than a separate engineering footnote. The embankment through the property was expanded after the merger, so modern Boulcott’s Farm is a golf course whose routing and maintenance have had to work alongside Lower Hutt’s river-management needs.
