Boso Country Club Boso Course (East)

Overview: Boso East gives players 18 championship holes at par 72 and is currently listed at 7,324 yards from the tour tees. The official club describes a broad, mature course where expansive fairways invite bold driving, while JSGCA records the original design by Touji Kamamatsu. The scale is the first thing a visitor notices, but the score is built through a series of positioning decisions. Long holes reward commitment, and the open corridors leave room for a confident player to shape the round.

History: The East Course opened on November 29, 1975 as part of Boso Country Club's wider multi-course operation. JSGCA records a substantial green conversion in 2007, when the former Korai and bent dual-green arrangement was changed to a single bent green while retaining the original layout's intent. Yasushi Kaizu handled that remodelling, extending and reshaping the principal green rather than replacing the course wholesale.

Did You Know? Boso's official page calls the East Course a mature, orthodox championship course and marks holes 3, 6, 12 and 18 as recommended long-drive holes. The closing hole is therefore part of the course's stated attacking rhythm, but the same page also lists several suggested nearest-to-pin holes, a reminder that the routing asks for both power and touch.
