Borth and Ynyslas Golf Club

Overview: Borth and Ynyslas is a traditional links beside Cardigan Bay, set within the Dyfi National Nature Reserve. The 18-hole route moves through open coastal ground where wind, firm running turf and natural humps and hollows shape the strategy. Its exposed position and narrow seaside landscape give the course an out-and-back rhythm, with the surrounding dunes, estuary and bay remaining part of the playing experience throughout the round.

History: Borth and Ynyslas dates its golfing history to 1885 and is commonly presented as one of Wales' oldest courses. The links was damaged and requisitioned for military use during the Second World War. Harry Colt's 1947 redesign, carried out after the wartime period and supported by compensation connected with the damage, helped establish the character of the course seen today.
