Borås Golfklubb (Norra)

Overview: Borås Norra is a full-length parkland course surrounded by the mixed woodland and open ground of western Sweden. The layout offers generous fairway movement from the tee, but the approach areas and changing lies ask for more precision than the first view suggests. Mature trees frame the holes without creating a uniform corridor, and the course uses its natural elevation to vary the approach angles. With multiple tee positions and a par of 72, Norra can be played as either a measured club round or a more demanding test from the back markers.

History: Borås Golfklubb was founded in 1933 and the new course was officially inaugurated in 1954. The final two holes were completed in 1958, which is the year used here for the first complete 18-hole Norra routing. Peter Chamberlain and Karl-Oscar Seth later rebuilt and modernised the course between 2008 and 2011, preserving its parkland identity while updating the playing surfaces and strategic detail.

Did You Know? Borås Golfklubb operates two 18-hole courses as well as a shorter layout. The Norra course is therefore part of a broad golf facility, not an isolated single-course club, and the two main courses give the club unusual variety for the region.
