Overview: Bonita Bay Club’s Bay Island course is a private 18-hole layout in Bonita Springs, shaped by Arthur Hills around wetlands, native vegetation and the nearby waters of Estero Bay. It is the longest and most demanding of the club’s Hills-designed courses, with published back tees reaching 7,045 yards. Water and dense vegetation are recurring strategic features.
History: Bay Island opened in 1994 as the third championship course in Bonita Bay’s 54-hole golf complex. The original project divided the routing between a Marsh nine and a newer nine, using the wetland landscape as a defining design resource rather than treating it as leftover ground.
Did You Know? Bay Island is part of a rare 54-hole club complex in which the course names and routings reflect distinct landscape settings, including the Marsh and Bay Island environments.
