Overview: The Fort Walton/Pensacola routing combines two nine-hole loops from The Villages’ 27-hole Bonifay Championship Course. Together they produce 18 holes at par 72 over rolling Florida ground, with elevation shifts, water carries, and a mixture of wide and more demanding green approaches.
History: Bonifay opened its first two nines, Destin and Fort Walton, in fall 2011, then added Pensacola to create the three-nine facility. The Clifton, Ezell and Clifton Design Group is credited with the overall course.
Did You Know? Fort Walton and Pensacola make a particularly varied pairing because the two loops were not designed as identical repeats. The route moves from the established Fort Walton character into the Pensacola nine that completed Bonifay’s 27-hole identity.
