Overview: Located near Bara in southern Sweden, the Gamla (Old) Course at Bokskogens Golfklubb is a highly scenic 18-hole parkland course originally designed by Douglas Brasier. Winding across a highly undulating, mature agricultural estate, the layout features tight, tree-lined fairways bordered by massive beech trees, deep natural ravines, and small, well-defended putting surfaces. The course demands precise ball placement off the tee and disciplined iron play.
History: Founded in 1963, Bokskogens is one of the premier classic private clubs in the Skåne region. The course hosted the European Tour's Scandinavian Enterprise Open in the 1970s, challenging the world's best players, including Seve Ballesteros, with its tight corridors and fast, classic greens.
Did You Know? The course is built on a highly stable, well-draining sandy subsoil that ensures excellent natural drainage, allowing the fairways to remain firm and playable year-round, despite the dense surrounding forest canopy.
