Boca Royale Golf & Country Club

Overview: Boca Royale Golf & Country Club is a semi-private 18-hole course in Englewood, in south Sarasota County. The current par-71 layout stretches just over 6,600 yards from the back tees and combines mature oaks, tropical palms, lakes, preserves, white-sand bunkers, and coquina paths.

History: Gordy Lewis completed a substantial redesign in 2024, including new tees, greens, fairways, bunkers, drainage, and Seashore Paspalum turf. The sources reviewed describe the current renovated course but do not establish the original opening year, so that field remains unfilled.

Did You Know? Boca Royale’s coquina shell paths and waste areas give the course a distinctly coastal-Sarasota texture. The Seashore Paspalum playing surfaces continue that regional identity while supporting the course’s modern renovation.
