Overview: The Lehman 18 at Cragun's Legacy Courses is the current championship expression of a Brainerd Lakes golf property that has changed through several generations of design. The course moves through wooded ground and around Stephens Lake, using natural contours, water and long sight lines to create a resort-scale test. Tom Lehman's redesign emphasizes playability, strategic variety and a stronger connection between the holes and the surrounding Minnesota landscape. It should be distinguished from the older Bobby's Legacy name still found in historical ranking records.
History: Cragun's Legacy began with Robert Trent Jones Jr.'s Legacy courses, including Bobby's Legacy, whose portfolio open date was 1998. The original 45-hole resort complex later underwent an extensive renovation and expansion led by Minnesota native Tom Lehman. The operator's current course pages now present the championship routing as The Lehman 18 alongside the Dutch 27, reflecting the post-renovation identity rather than the older Bobby's Legacy name. The history is therefore a story of continuity through redesign: Jones Jr.'s resort framework has been reworked into Lehman's current presentation.
Did You Know? Bobby's Legacy was named for Robert Trent Jones Jr., while the current course identity honors Tom Lehman. The name change records a real architectural transition, not simply a new marketing label for an unchanged scorecard.
