Blue Lakes Country Club

Overview: Blue Lakes Country Club is a private 18-hole course in Twin Falls, set within the Snake River Canyon and the historic Blue Lakes property. Francis L. James's work is closely tied to the site's natural contours, where orchard ground, canyon edges and river views give the course a strong local character. The sixth is the celebrated visual statement, with an elevated tee high above the Snake River, but the rest of the routing rewards the same qualities: controlled distance, thoughtful angles and an ability to read changing ground.

History: Club formation was established in 1944, and golf took shape on the property with a first nine in the late 1940s. Ground was broken for the course in 1949, then a second nine was constructed in 1978. The layout continued to evolve through later improvements, with the club's official history identifying 1996 as the end of its last major renovation period. That layered development explains why Blue Lakes has both a long-established club rhythm and a varied 18-hole routing.

Did You Know? The I.B. Perrine family cemetery sits between the eighth and ninth holes. Perrine founded Blue Lakes Ranch, so the cemetery places an important part of the property's agricultural and local history directly inside the golf course. It is a quiet reminder that the fairways occupy an older landscape with stories that predate the club's golfing era.
