Blackwolf Run (River)

Overview: The River Course at Blackwolf Run follows the Sheboygan River through a glacial landscape, with Pete Dye’s design using river edges, shaped banks, woodland, and open meadow to create constantly changing lines of play. The course’s strategy comes from its relationship with the river and its demanding green approaches.

History: Blackwolf Run opened its first 18 holes in 1988, and the River Course became part of the 36-hole complex as the facility expanded. Pete Dye’s work has made the River one of Kohler’s best-known championship layouts.

Did You Know? The River Course hosted the 1998 and 2012 U.S. Women’s Opens. Se Ri Pak won the 1998 championship in a playoff, a result often associated with the growth of women’s golf in South Korea.
