Overview: Built across an old quarry site, Black Rock uses exposed rock, fescue, angular bunkering, and heathland-style corridors for its private Hingham setting.
History: The course opened in 2002 after construction on more than 200 acres of difficult quarry terrain. It was soon named among the top new courses by LINKS magazine, and the property has developed a mature fescue character since opening.
Did You Know? Black Rock was built on the site of an old quarry with very little natural topsoil. Large rocks were moved, old dump sites were capped, and imported topsoil was used to create the fairways and greens.
