Black Oak Golf Club

Overview: Black Oak is a private 18-hole course in Long Valley, New Jersey, created by architect David Glenz. The course uses rolling Morris County ground, generous fairways and large greens, with seven tee options allowing the layout to scale from a friendly member round to a championship test. The blue tees are listed at par 72 and 6,634 yards, while the longest profile reaches about 7,097.

History: Black Oak opened in 2010 after Glenz, a New Jersey golf professional and teacher, developed the club as a new private course for the region. The academy connection remains part of its identity, alongside a full practice facility and member events rather than a long inherited club history.

Did You Know? Black Oak was created after its founding partner decided the area needed another course, and Glenz’s golf academy relocated there at opening. The club therefore combines a relatively young course with a teaching and competitive culture more often associated with older private clubs.
