Overview: Black Diamond Ranch’s Ranch course is an 18-hole private layout in Lecanto, part of a property known for unusually strong elevation changes in central Florida. Tom Fazio used the former limestone-mining landscape to create a par-72 course with rolling ground, dramatic landforms, lakes and elevated green complexes. The longest published tees measure 6,921 yards.
History: The Black Diamond property was assembled in the 1980s, and the Ranch course was completed in 1997 as one of the club’s two 18-hole courses. A later renovation by Tripp Davis refreshed the course while retaining Fazio’s distinctive terrain-driven character.
Did You Know? The closing stretch uses Black Diamond’s quarry country to particularly theatrical effect: the 16th, 17th and 18th holes are the signature run most often associated with the Ranch course.
