Overview: The Quarry Course at Black Diamond Ranch is a private Florida course built around dramatic limestone mining land in Lecanto. Tom Fazio used the former quarry, native vegetation and sandy ground to create a routing with more elevation and exposed rock than most courses in the state.
History: The Quarry opened in 1988 and became the original eighteen-hole course at Black Diamond Ranch. The design grew from the property’s industrial past, turning the old extraction landscape into a sequence of holes that moves between wooded ground and quarry edges.
Did You Know? The Quarry sequence includes thirteen holes associated with the old mining landscape, with five holes especially close to the quarry itself. The par-three thirteenth is the signature example, requiring a direct carry over the quarry void.
