Overview: Birnam Wood Golf Club occupies a private Montecito setting with an 18-hole course between the Santa Ynez Mountains and the Pacific. The club's own story describes a short, thinking-oriented layout of about 6,100 yards, with mature trees, lemon groves, and a carefully landscaped residential setting.
History: Robert McLean and William W. "Pete" Sears developed the property from a former lemon orchard community, and Robert Trent Jones Sr. designed the 80-acre golf course. The club's history places its identity in 1967 and explains how the surrounding village green and course were developed together.
Did You Know? The clubhouse incorporates an 1892 lemon packing house whose stonework was preserved and reused as part of the club's central building.
