Overview: Big Cypress South is the championship 18-hole course at Big Cypress Golf & Country Club in Lakeland. Ron Garl’s par-72 layout plays to 6,689 yards from the championship tees and uses water, mounding, pine framing, and strategic fairway positions to add shape to a generally level Florida site.

History: Course references date the South Course to 1987 and credit Ron Garl. The course remains the full-length counterpart to the executive North Course, and the current scorecard confirms the South routing’s par-72 identity and tee ratings.

Did You Know? Big Cypress was built with two 18-hole courses that deliberately serve different purposes. The South routing provides the championship-scale test, while the North course offers a much shorter par-60 round on the same Cypress Lakes property.
