Bidermann Golf Club

Overview: Bidermann Golf Club occupies rolling Delaware farmland near Wilmington. The course began as a private du Pont family layout and was expanded into an eighteen-hole Dick Wilson design, with broad landforms, blind approaches and quiet green complexes shaping a low-key strategic test.

History: Henry Francis du Pont originally had a nine-hole course at Winterthur designed by Devereux Emmet. When Bidermann was formed, Dick Wilson extended the property and the full eighteen-hole course opened on July 4, 1965.

Did You Know? Bidermann's early local rule allowed a ball in a flower bed to be lifted and dropped without penalty. The unusual rule reflected the course's origins on a cultivated du Pont estate.
