Berkeley Hall Golf Club (South Course)

Overview: Berkeley Hall’s South Course is a private Tom Fazio layout in Bluffton, South Carolina. The par-72 course uses tree-lined fairways, Lowcountry lakes, and boldly contoured green complexes to create a 7,000-yard modern course with a classic visual reference. Its strategy comes from the relationship between fairway position, water, and the approach into the raised or shaped putting surfaces.

History: Tom Fazio designed Berkeley Hall’s North and South courses as companion layouts, with the North opening in 2001 and the South in 2002. The club and USGA describe both courses as modern interpretations of design ideas associated with the 1920s, while the South has developed its own competitive history.

Did You Know? The South Course hosted the 2005 USGA Men’s State Team event and has been the home of The Players Amateur since 2012. Those events reflect the course’s role as both a private club layout and a serious competition venue.
