Berjaya Hills Golf & Country Club

Overview: Berjaya Hills Golf & Country Club is an 18-hole mountain course at Bukit Tinggi, about 45 minutes from Kuala Lumpur. The current owner profile lists par 72 and 6,312 metres from the black tees, approximately 6,904 yards, and credits J. Michael Poellot. The routing follows highland valleys fringed by rainforest, with streams, lakes, rocky outcrops and substantial elevation changes shaping both the views and the shots. The clubhouse and nearby resort accommodation make it a practical weekend golf destination rather than a standalone day-trip course.

History: Current course references date the course opening to 1997. Poellot's design was fitted into the existing valley landscape, and the course continues to be presented as the golf centerpiece of the Berjaya Hills resort area near Colmar Tropicale. The club's course guide retains the original routing's hole-by-hole character, including the Stony Creek crossings, elevated tee positions and the use of forested slopes as backdrops. No later redesign is asserted here because the reviewed current sources do not document one.

Did You Know? The course repeatedly offers two different answers to the same strategic question. On the twelfth and fourteenth, a lake cuts across the fairway, inviting a bold carry or a safer line that leaves a longer approach. The seventeenth gives a similar choice around Stony Creek, while the eighteenth asks whether to attack a water carry or play left around the lake. The valley setting turns those decisions into visible changes of elevation and angle.
