Belvedere Golf Course

Overview: Belvedere is a historic 18-hole parkland course in Charlottetown, set among hardwood-lined fairways and the gentle movement of the original Belvidere Woods. The club's current course information lists par 71 and 6,318 yards from the championship tees, with bentgrass greens, strategic bunkering, water features and views toward Charlottetown Harbour. It is a compact city course in the best sense: the setting is close to the centre of the island's capital, while the established trees and old ground give the round a feeling of continuity.

History: Belvedere's story began in 1902, when Alexander Beazeley and other civic-minded founders brought organised golf to Charlottetown. The original nine-hole course grew into a full 18-hole layout in 1929, and later course material credits John M. Peacock and Graham Cooke in the design and renovation history. Belvedere has therefore evolved over more than a century without losing its central location or the traditional character of its fairway corridors.

Did You Know? The course sits on land once known as Belvidere Woods, a detail that explains both the club's name and the mature woodland character still visible around the holes. Several points also open toward Charlottetown Harbour, giving the historic inland routing a distinct coastal-city connection.
