Belle Mare Plage Resort (Links Course)

Overview: The Links Course at Constance Belle Mare Plage is an 18-hole, par-71 layout on the east coast of Mauritius, designed by Rodney Wright and Peter Alliss. Its 5,942 metres, approximately 6,498 yards, move through tropical planting, volcanic ground, water features and changing angles into the greens. The course is the more open companion to the older Legend layout, with a different balance of width and hazard placement. Although it sits within a luxury resort, the playing character comes from the land's natural movement and the way the routing changes direction across the property.

History: The Links opened in 2002, eight years after the Legend Course, and became the second championship layout at Belle Mare Plage. Wright and Alliss built a course to complement rather than duplicate the older par-72 design, using the surrounding landscape to create a par-71 route with its own identity. The course has since featured in resort tournaments and professional events, while the adjoining Legend remains associated with the MCB Tour Championship and senior golf.

Did You Know? The approach to the 18th is played over water, giving the closing hole a clear visual finish in front of the clubhouse. The Links also has a useful contrast in its nines: the opening holes provide room to shape a round, while the back nine narrows in places and brings water into the strategy more often. That makes it a distinct test from Belle Mare's original Legend Course.
