Belfair Golf Club (East)

Overview: Belfair's East Course is a private Tom Fazio layout in Bluffton, South Carolina, where Lowcountry woodland, marsh influence and broad fairway corridors shape the round. The championship set reaches 6,936 yards at par 71. Native grasses, pine and live-oak stands, freshwater lakes and lagoons give the course a Scottish-inspired visual character without removing it from its coastal setting. The routing offers generous landing areas in places, but the approach work is more exacting, with greens, contours and hazards asking golfers to choose angles before they arrive at the scoring area. It is the quieter, windswept half of Belfair's two-course offering.

History: The East Course opened in 1999, three years after Belfair's West Course. Tom Fazio designed the layout as a companion course, using the same Lowcountry environment but giving it a distinct links-influenced identity. Course references describe wide fairways, native grasses, undulating greens and substantial setbacks from the homes in the surrounding community. Those elements have helped the East Course retain its sense of openness while serving as a private club course for more than two decades.
