History: Spencer Oldham laid out the original 18-hole course in 1895. A.W. Tillinghast converted it to nine longer holes in 1912, Donald Ross returned it to 18 holes in 1923, and Forse Design later restored the course using the contributions of all three earlier designers.
Did You Know? The course sits in a floodplain crossed by the Shober Spring Stream. That water history is part of the design story because the restoration used natural spring-bed and wetland features rather than treating the valley as a blank building site.
