Overview: Bayville Golf Club gives members an 18-hole private layout in Virginia Beach, Virginia, set along the Lynnhaven River near the former Bayville Farms. The design uses broad water features, shaped landforms and mature landscaping, with the property’s scale giving the holes room to breathe.
History: Ground was broken in November 1994 after extensive soil, water-table and archaeological planning. Tom Fazio's design team led the work, construction and grow-in continued through 1995, and the course opened that year.
Did You Know? Bayville was an early full-course user of A-4 bentgrass on its greens. The club's account traces the choice to a meeting with turf breeder Melodee Fraser and seed developed from germplasm associated with Augusta National.
