Overview: Baylands Golf Links is Palo Alto's public municipal course beside the Baylands Nature Preserve. The current routing was redesigned by Forrest Richardson and plays to par 72, with the official scorecard listing 6,680 yards from the black tees. The open setting brings the preserve, wetlands, and Bay Area wind into the round.
History: Palo Alto's golf facility dates to the mid-1950s, while the present Baylands routing opened in 2018 on the former Palo Alto Golf Course site. The redesign was developed to work with the surrounding preserve and to give the city a modern public course tied to its shoreline landscape.
Did You Know? The official course flyover notes that the current layout has five par-3 holes, an unusual distribution that changes the rhythm of the round.
