History: Battle Ground opened on July 4, 1967, as a Robert Simmons course and served for nearly fifty years as the home of Lafayette Country Club. A major renovation led by Tim Liddy about two decades later refreshed the course while preserving the natural setting and broad playing corridors. Liddy’s work emphasised sustainability and minimal disturbance, helping the course retain its connection to the surrounding state-park land. The club now combines its established 18-hole course with modern practice and indoor golf facilities, but the original identity remains clear in the open fairways, generous greens and changing woodland edges.
