Overview: Bartow Golf Course is a public 18-hole municipal course in Bartow, Florida. The traditional layout plays through open Florida land without houses along the fairways, with four sets of tees ranging from roughly 5,200 to 6,600 yards and a par-72 scorecard.
History: Bartow’s course originally opened as nine holes in 1919. The Florida Historic Golf Trail records later development toward the present 18-hole course and notes that a 1926 newspaper identified a golf architect in connection with the project, but the surviving evidence does not establish a reliable designer name for the complete current routing.
Did You Know? Bartow is one of Florida’s older public courses and remains part of the Florida Historic Golf Trail. Its original nine-hole beginning is still visible in the history, even though today’s golfer plays a full 18-hole par-72 course.
