Overview: Barsebäck’s Ocean Course follows the coast north of Malmö, beginning in woodland and parkland before opening toward the water. The layout’s character comes from that gradual change of landscape: tree-lined holes ask for disciplined positioning, while the seaside holes bring wind, horizon and wider recovery areas into play. At par 73, the course offers room for a full strategic examination without relying on length alone. Its bunker patterns and shaped greens reward a player who plans the next shot before taking on the current one.
History: Barsebäck Resort was established in 1969, and the Ocean course became one of the resort’s principal championship layouts. The resort’s official description identifies the course as an 18-hole par-73 route moving from forest and park toward the sea. Barsebäck’s wider history includes major international events, which helped establish the property as one of the most recognisable golf venues in southern Sweden.
Did You Know? The Ocean name describes more than a distant view. The course changes atmosphere during the round, moving from sheltered inland holes to a more exposed finish where the Baltic and Öresund landscape become part of the shot picture.
