Overview: Barrington Golf Club in Aurora is a private Jack Nicklaus Signature course laid across rolling Northeast Ohio ground. The 18-hole routing uses broad landing areas, framed views, water and carefully positioned greens to make the preferred line matter from the first tee. From the black tees the course measures 7,049 yards at par 72, while shorter sets preserve the same sequence of strategic questions. Its character comes from the balance between generous-looking fairways and approaches that become exacting when the wrong side of the hole is chosen.
History: Construction of the Jack Nicklaus-designed course was underway in 1992, and Barrington opened in 1994 as the golf centerpiece of a developing Aurora community. The clubhouse and surrounding property matured around the course, but the routing remains the defining element. The club's current history and course tour preserve both the opening-era Nicklaus identity and the details of the holes as they are played today.
Did You Know? The twelfth is Barrington's signature hole, a medium-length par three played to an island green surrounded by water. It is a compact expression of the course's larger strategy: the hole is not long, but the position of the target leaves little room for a careless line.
