Barefoot Resort & Golf (Norman)

Overview: At Barefoot Resort, Greg Norman's North Myrtle Beach layout plays 18 holes at par 72, designed around the scenic Intracoastal Waterway. The course reaches roughly 7,000 yards and is known for seven holes that border the waterway, generous fairways, broad green complexes and a mix of native vegetation and sandy waste areas. Its scale is substantial, but the landing zones and multiple tee choices keep the routing more playable than its championship length suggests.

History: Barefoot Resort developed four championship courses by different architects, with Greg Norman responsible for this routing. The course has become one of the central multi-course properties in the Myrtle Beach market, where resort golf is built around variety rather than one repeated design language. The Norman course's current identity comes from the combination of preserved wetlands, mature trees and the broad waterway corridor.

Did You Know? Seven holes border the Intracoastal Waterway, giving the Norman Course an unusually long relationship with the coastal edge for an inland resort routing. The design also uses sandy waste areas inspired by the Southwest, so the course combines Carolina wetlands with a visual note associated with Norman's desert work.
