Overview: Bardmoor Golf & Tennis Club is a public golf facility in the Largo and Seminole area of Tampa Bay. William Diddle designed the original course for founder Oliver Bardes, and the property’s present character combines tree-lined parkland with a long tournament history and a broad public-golf role.
History: Bardmoor was founded in 1971, and its first rounds were played in an exhibition match involving Ben Hogan and Tommy Bolt. Gary Koch led a $2 million design renovation in 2001. The club also hosted the PGA and LPGA JCPenney Classic for more than a dozen years.
Did You Know? Bardmoor’s tournament history spans both men’s and women’s professional golf. The JCPenney Classic brought PGA and LPGA players together at the club, making the Largo facility a recurring part of the televised Florida golf calendar.
