Bangpakong Riverside Country Club

Overview: Bangpakong Riverside Country Club follows the Bangpakong River in Chachoengsao, east of Bangkok. The 18-hole, par-72 course is associated with Thai designer Chird Boonyaratavej and reaches 7,140 yards from the longest published tees. Its parkland character comes from wide fairways, palms, flower beds, lakes and a river-edge setting, but the visual openness can be misleading. Water affects many holes, and the combination of long approaches, bunkers and changing angles rewards a player who plans the hole before choosing a line. The riverside location also gives the course an identity distinct from Bangkok's more built-up inland layouts.

History: Bangpakong Riverside opened in 1990 as one of the early full-size courses in Chachoengsao and took its name from the river beside the property. Later course material describes the original routing as having become longer over time, while the club retained its broad parkland concept and waterside character. The current facility continues to operate with a clubhouse and golf services, and its location between Bangkok and the eastern golf corridor helps explain its long-standing popularity with regional and visiting players.

Did You Know? The closing 18th is the course's clearest strategic postcard. The published hole description gives it as a long hole with water around the green, turning the approach into a decision about how much of the final target to challenge. Several of the short holes are also substantial tests, so the course does not reserve all of its drama for the finish.
