Overview: Bandon Trails, the third course built at the world-famous Bandon Dunes Golf Resort in Oregon, is a spectacular woodland and heathland masterpiece designed by Bill Coore and Ben Crenshaw. Unlike its coastal siblings, Bandon Trails routes players inland, taking them on a diverse journey that starts on massive sand dunes, transitions into an open meadow, and climbs into a dense coastal forest of Douglas firs. History: Opened in 2005, Bandon Trails was built on the exact, heavily wooded land where resort founder Mike Keiser first walked and fell in love with the Oregon coast. Coore and Crenshaw worked closely with nature, using minimal earthworks to ensure that the fairways flow naturally over the rolling ridges and contours. The course represents a classic tribute to golden-age design, emphasizing thought, precision, and a deep appreciation for the natural environment.

The short, driveable par-4 14th hole features a microscopic, heavily contoured green that is guarded by deep, penal bunkers and a steep false front, making it one of the ultimate risk-reward holes on the property. Bandon Trails has hosted several USGA amateur championships and is consistently rated as the favorite course of the resort by architecture aficionados.
