Ballyhack Golf Club

Overview: Ballyhack is a private course in the Blue Ridge foothills near Roanoke, Virginia. Lester George’s design uses rugged ground, broad fairways and deeply cut bunkers to create a modern course with a distinctly Scottish highland feel. The course stretches to 7,294 yards and par 72 from the back tees.

History: Ballyhack opened in 2009 and is part of the Dormie Network. The layout was developed as a full-scale private destination, with the rolling Virginia terrain retained as a major part of the design rather than flattened into a uniform parkland setting.

Did You Know? The property includes the Goat Trak, a separate par-three facility that complements the main course. Its name and the course’s rugged visual language reflect the rural character of the surrounding Virginia landscape.
