Overview: Located on the Bjäre Peninsula in southern Sweden, the Gamla Banan (Old Course) at Båstad Golfklubb is a historic 18-hole parkland course designed by the British firm of Hawtree & Taylor. Winding through a gently rolling landscape of mature oak and beech trees, the layout features tight fairways, subtle elevation changes, and small, well-defended putting surfaces. History: Opened in 1930, the course was built to establish a premier competitive venue in Scandinavia, famously inaugurated by King Gustaf V. Over the decades, it has hosted several prestigious professional tournaments and remains the second oldest 18-hole course in Sweden. It is historic as the first championship course in Sweden designed by a professional British architectural firm.
