Avondale Golf Course

Overview: Avondale Golf Course is a private parkland layout situated in Pymble, on Sydney's leafy North Shore. Designed by Eric Apperly and opened in 1927, the course is routed through a bushland setting with tall eucalyptus trees and native flora. The design features undulating terrain, creek crossings, and bunkers that demand precise iron play and strategy.

History: The club was formed in 1926, and Apperly completed the routing in 1927. Over the years, the course has been refined, most notably in 2008 by designer Ross Watson, who modernized the green complexes and bunkering while retaining Apperly’s classic strategic lines.
