Overview: Atlantic City Country Club occupies 18 holes in Northfield, New Jersey, close to the coast and marshes of the Atlantic City region. The parkland-to-coastal setting, mature trees and tidal landscape give the course a character distinct from a purely inland layout.
History: The club was founded in 1897 and the first course and clubhouse followed in 1898. John Reid's early work was followed by Willie Park Jr. and later Tom Doak updates, creating a layered design history.
Did You Know? The term birdie is widely associated with Atlantic City Country Club after a 1903 match in which the players used the word for a score of one under par.
