Atlanta Athletic Club (Highlands)

Overview: The Highlands Course at the Atlanta Athletic Club is one of the most storied venues in American golf. Located in Johns Creek, Georgia, this championship layout is characterized by its dramatic elevation changes, water hazards, and fast, undulating greens. It is widely considered one of the premier tournament venues in the Southeastern United States.

History: The course was originally designed by Robert Trent Jones Sr. In 1967. Over the decades, it has seen significant refinements, most notably by his son, Rees Jones, who conducted major renovations in 2006 and 2016 to prepare it for major championships. The club itself has a legendary history, being the home club of the great Bobby Jones.

Did You Know? The Highlands Course has hosted three PGA Championships (1981, 2001, and 2011) and the 1976 U.S. Open. David Toms famously won the 2001 PGA Championship here after a dramatic hole-in-one on the 15th hole during the third round.
