Overview: Located in Åmmeberg, near Askersund in Sweden, Askersunds Golfklubb is a highly scenic 18-hole woodland and parkland course. Set directly along the shores of massive Lake Vättern, the layout features wide fairways bordered by mature birch and pine trees, deep natural ravines, and large, expansive green complexes. The course demands accurate ball placement off the tee and strategic distance control to navigate the numerous waterfront hazards.
History: Founded in the late 1980s, the course was built to establish a premier competitive venue in the Örebro county. The layout was carefully routed to showcase the dramatic lakeside topography, establishing a premier destination that frequently hosts regional amateur championships and serves as a major draw for visiting golfers.
Did You Know? The course is built on the historic grounds of a massive, former industrial mining and shipping port. Several historic, beautifully preserved 19th-century industrial buildings serve as the clubhouse and administrative center for the facility.
