Overview: Aronimink is a private Donald Ross course in Newtown Square, restored with the aim of recovering Ross's strategic intent. The parkland routing uses rolling ground, deep bunkering and long-iron approaches, with two par 5s and a demanding closing sequence.
History: The club dates to 1896 and moved to its present 300-acre site in 1926. Donald Ross designed the 18-hole course, which opened with the new clubhouse in 1928; later alterations by Dick Wilson, George Fazio and others were followed by Gil Hanse's restoration work.
Did You Know? Aronimink became the first venue to stage the PGA of America's three rotating majors: the PGA Championship, Senior PGA Championship and KPMG Women's PGA Championship.
