Argyle Country Club

Overview: Argyle Country Club is a private Silver Spring course shaped by rolling hills, tree-lined corridors and a par-71 championship layout. The blue tees measure 6,500 yards, while redesigned green-to-tee complexes, new tees and strategic Billy Bunkers give the course a contemporary playing surface. The club’s northern-Bermuda turf program is part of its effort to improve year-round resilience.

History: Perc LeDuc originally designed Argyle in 1945. A recent renovation rebuilt or adjusted greens, bunkers, drainage and access routes while seeking to retain the rolling character of the older course. Argyle has hosted Maryland State Open, State Amateur, State Women’s Amateur and WDCGA competitions.

Did You Know? Argyle describes itself as one of the northernmost courses in the United States to use Ironcutter Bermuda. The choice is not merely cosmetic: the club connects the turf conversion to reduced water and chemical use and more dependable play after wet weather.
