Overview: Apo Golf And Country Club is the oldest golf venue in Davao City and a distinctly tropical parkland course in Mindanao. The 18-hole, par-72 layout stretches to about 7,079 yards through the former coconut plantation of the Inigo estate. Tree-lined fairways, broad greens and water hazards dominate the playing character, while the foothills and distant presence of Mount Apo and Mount Talomo give the setting a sense of place. Accuracy off the tee matters because water and bunkering keep asking the player to choose a disciplined line.

History: The course grew from 49 hectares made available by Carlos V. Inigo Sr. The club inaugurated its first nine holes in April 1965 and formally launched the second nine in June 1968, creating the 18-hole complex that exists today. The official history names the engineers and golfer who planned and shaped the course, but separates that work from Orlando Quimpo's design of the clubhouse and adjacent facilities. That distinction is retained here because course and clubhouse authorship are not the same claim.

Did You Know? Apo made Philippine golf history in 1995 when it hosted the Philippine Open, becoming the first course outside Luzon to stage the event. The club's signature 11th is a short par 3 requiring a carry over water into a tight, bunker-guarded green. It is a compact lesson in the course's wider identity: the scorecard offers generous par-5 opportunities, but the shortest holes can still carry the sharpest penalty.
