Aphrodite Hills Golf Resort

Overview: Aphrodite Hills Golf Resort is an 18-hole championship course in Kouklia, above the coast near Paphos. The current operator lists a 6,289-metre course, par 71 and a design by Cabell B. Robinson, which converts to approximately 6,876 yards. The layout runs across two plateaux divided by a dramatic ravine, using indigenous olive and carob trees, shaped bunkers and tiered greens to make the topography part of the strategy. It is a resort course with enough variety to reward careful planning on every hole.

History: Aphrodite Hills opened in 2002 as the first leisure and golf development of its kind in Cyprus, according to the operator’s course history. The property later became known as PGA National Cyprus and hosted the Cyprus Open and Cyprus Showdown during the 2020 European Tour season. Those events gave the course an international tournament chapter, but the underlying identity remains Robinson’s original 18-hole routing above the Mediterranean.

Did You Know? The seventh hole is the course’s signature test, requiring play across a ravine that the operator measures at 130 metres. The eighth adds another unusual visual reference: an ancient olive press beside the hole. Together they show how Aphrodite Hills combines engineered golf features with traces of the older agricultural landscape rather than presenting a generic resort setting.
