Overview: Situated in the rolling hills of Umbria, Italy, Antognolla Golf is a spectacular 18-hole championship course designed by Robert Trent Jones Jr. The layout is carved through steep, forested hillsides and natural ravines, featuring dramatic elevation changes, wide fairways, and large, undulating green complexes. The course demands strategic shot-making, requiring players to hit accurate tee shots to avoid the dense forests and navigate the deep, signature Trent Jones Jr. bunkers.
History: Opened in 1997, the course was built as the sporting centerpiece of a luxury resort estate. Trent Jones Jr. carefully routed the holes to showcase the dramatic Umbrian landscape and respect the historic boundaries of the estate. The course has established a reputation for its breathtaking scenery and immaculate conditioning, frequently hosting Italian PGA events.
Did You Know? The course is set in the shadow of the spectacular 12th-century Antognolla Castle. This ancient moated fortress has been beautifully restored and sits majestically on a rocky ridge directly overlooking the 18th green, providing a cinematic finish to the round.
