Overview: Angels Crossing is a public W. Bruce Matthews III course in Vicksburg, Michigan, routed across broad fairways, wetlands, prairie grasses and rolling ground near Barton Lake. Giant contoured greens and bold bunkering make line choice and approach placement central to the par-72 test.
History: The course grew from a Vicksburg redevelopment effort after the local paper industry declined. Matthews created a modern classic inspired by Golden Age ideas, and the Village of Vicksburg acquired Angels Crossing in 2009 with a stated community mission.
Did You Know? The course’s design draws inspiration from Golden Age examples including Shinnecock Hills, Charleston Country Club and Fox Chapel.
