Amverton Cove Golf & Island Resort

Overview: Amverton Cove Golf & Island Resort is an 18-hole par-72 course on Carey Island, about 45 minutes from Kuala Lumpur. Current course references give 5,875 metres, approximately 6,426 yards, and identify Jason Winter of E&G Parslow as the designer. The site combines former plantation and marshland with scenic lakes, flashed-up bunkers and tree-lined fairways. Its full resort setting adds a hotel, theme-park attractions and river-based activities, making it a destination course for golfers travelling through the Klang Valley rather than only a local club round.

History: Amverton Cove opened for play in 2013 as part of a 250-acre island resort development. The design was built around the site's wetland character, with an eight-inch sand cap allowing buggies on the fairways according to current course information. The resort and its golf course have continued under the Amverton Cove identity, and the present official website still promotes the 18-hole course from the Carey Island address.

Did You Know? The eighteenth gives the course a clear closing decision. One line asks for a 235-metre water carry to a small peninsula fairway on the right, creating a short approach, while the safer line uses the main fairway on the left. Earlier holes use marshland and lakes more subtly, so the final hole turns the course's general wetland theme into one explicit risk-and-reward choice.
