Overview: Amata Spring Country Club is an 18-hole championship course in Chonburi built around two large lakes. Lee Schmidt and Schmidt-Curley Design use water, shaped land and carefully framed playing corridors to create a strategic layout. The club's own material gives the course a par of 72 and a length of about 7,500 yards. The memorable 17th is an island green reached by boat.
History: Amata Spring was established in 2005 at Amata City Chonburi, with the grand opening held on 18 November that year. It was conceived as a private members club and soon became a venue for major professional and amateur events, including the Royal Trophy, Thailand Golf Championship and the first LPGA event held in Thailand.
Did You Know? The 17th green is not simply surrounded by water: the club describes it as a floating island green that players reach by boat. The lake also comes into play on several other holes, while the clubhouse looks back over the closing hole.
